SEPTEMBER – Life, Second Chances & Love

It’s not an uncommon feelings that we sometimes want to change something in our lives, do something right, do something different, extra ordinary or move forward…but we feel kinda stuck? uninspired? and think that we’ve lost all the chances we have and or

other times we assume that we need that one drastic change to be happy and content… but actually we don’t. We insist on making it complicated but actually life is really simple we just have to live by the present and enjoy the now.

When we Love: … it’s not a matter of chance but a matter of choice

In Second Chances: We don’t get second chances, we give ourselves second chances

In Life.. still our choice that matter

So there… I just had the sudden urge to share and write that down. All the inspirations are form the story  – SEPTEMBER. It’s actually a FanFic…simple yet  full of amazingly timeless Life lessons.  A fluff and angsty fic rolled into one.

This fanfic is one of my simple joys and guilty pleasures… Well if you are into kpop and SJ fandom and a kyumin fan? you’ll prolly understand 🙂 I just have an overflowing feels and love for this story aghgjdkjsskgfl

But seriously…

Sometimes we all need a little push and few life reminders right? So this story is for all of us and I highly recommend!

Well for non kpop fan…just think this way — you want a new book to read, you’re into romcom, chiclit, inspirational-kind-of-book,or basically you want something new? a different genre maybe? well give this one a try! 🙂

over all it’s well written. Hands down to the author of this fanfic.. She’s a lawyer and an awesome writer! Also, this fic has been heavily inspired by Marilyn Scott’s The Last Day.

Here are few of my fave quotes, phrases or line or whatever you call it LOL

September is a month of change when summer slowly gives in to autumn and the leaves have to learn how to say goodbye to the tree that they have comfortably clung on to. It is a month that subtly speaks of new beginnings. People’s lives, after all, are not stagnant water that won’t move unless the container is shaken. However, this change does not necessarily have to be something drastic or something extraordinary. It could be as easy as sitting in your own living room, doing the most ordinary of routines and yet feeling something new about it.

What defines each and every human being is not their ability to change to the world in a snap of a finger. It is their capacity to start change within themselves and appreciate life as it goes.

After all, it really does not have to be the last day before we start living our lives, does it?

Book: Crazy Rich Asians #Crazyrichasians #KevianKwan #CrazyLiterally

Last year I finished reading this novel – Crazy Rich Asians by Kevian Kwan. It was one of those random trip to my fave bookstore when I stumbled upon this book.

What caught my attention is the ‘crazy’ in the title. Curious, I started flipping the pages and when I turned to the page where its explains the simplified family tree of The YOUNG, T’SIEN & SHANG CLAN.. I was like…
WA LAO EH! THIS.IS.C.R.A.Z.Y. LOL

The private plane, private jets, owning a private IsLand, a huge mysterious castle at botanical garden, I totally flipped out and gone…yeah crazy.

I only visited Singapore once, I wonder where the places are and if they really do exist.

Main characters are Nicky Young and Rachelle Chu.

Nicky Young who is a “simple crazy rich asian” who was in love with Rachelle Chu, mistaken to be a rich Taiwanese girl.

But my favorite character is Astrids’ …

This book will let you use your imaginations and travel with distant crazy world of the characters.

The last few chapters got me teary eyed…

A worth read. Even some of my friends got curious with my tweets while reading the book. They enjoyed it as well.

…and yes I love how Kevin Kwan uses the singlish terms or expressions w/c I’m quite familiar with since I have friends from SG.

They just have this unique collections of Japanese cover. KRY and Super Junior has this sort of vulnerable style of singing that expresses more emotions. Oh well I am just too biased here?

My fave SJ song cover is still Minwook’s History though.

TonyMoly – Unlucky fangirl

Few days more and we are going to see Super Junior (M) again… Excited? Yes? It’s been 3 months since I’ve last seen the boys. Who wouldn’t want to see them extremely close? Like seeing kyu’s cute pore haha but not yet my time or I’m just Unlucky I guess? When Tony Moly announced  about the fansign mechanics, while a bit hesitant, I still went and line up anyways.

Market!Marlekt! Tonymoly is the nearest branch from where I live and work.But, I could have just risk going to Sm north or Megamall knowing stubs (pass) they’re giving out are more than 30 – 60 unlike at Market Market they only got 15 fansign stubs. Though we manage to get INSIDE the mall few minutes before opening, was surprised to see a line of fans in front of the boutique! yes in front of the boutique. Ninja moves these days ha? As I wonder around, some staff of TM was trying to quell the anger of annoyed fans outside who are there since 4am?

I understand the feeling but sometimes people (fangirls-fanboys,young and old ones)  should show proper respect to everyone… okay zips mouth.

Oh by the way.I got mini bruises.T___T I got squashed a bit when everyone wants to enter the shop all at the same time… Well the price of being a fangirl.

To end the story short… I didn’t get a fansign pass.  No sense of bitterness at all. Really. *bawling* kidding’. Still going to watch the concert though.

I spotted an acquaintance at the store and took a picture of her SJM Calendar.

My kids asked me a million questions. ‘Where is Daddy’ …In heaven?

I was caught on an unguarded moment when my boys  (Eldest 6 y/0, Youngest 5 y/0) asked about the Daddy question. My mind goes blank and My answer… “In Heaven”.. Oh noooo… I’m sorry to the biological dad for an advance RIP… But really the so called “DAD” is nowhere  else to be found. It’s been 4 years now…. No Happy Birthdays, No Merry Christmas nor Happy new year greetings..Literally, No Hi No Hello…

My conversation with my kids last night started with an old picture of Leonardo Dicaprio hanging on the ceiling of my room at our ancestral home. (We are still on holidays so yeah!)

Me, My kids lying in bed when kid 1 asked: Mom, Who is that guy? (pointing to the old stationery mini poster hanging on the ceiling.)

Me: He is the Actor that i  like when i am still single ( out of words yeah i said “single! ) He is Leonardo Dicaprio.

Kid 1: Oh you like him when you were still young ( oh there Right term; “young”)

Me: Oh yes when I’m still young i used to like him.

Kid1: Does your mom knows about that…

Me: *laughs* of course mama knew about it. (note: MAMA – they call my mom, MAMA)

kid 1: Who is your Mama then?

Me: ehhh MAMA… Our mama.. Mama is your Lola (Grandmother)

Kid 2: …and PAPA ? ( PAPA- My dad- they call my dad, PAPA)

Me: So PAPA is your Lolo (Grandfather) My dad..

Kid 1 & 2 (in harmony) : DAD? SO HOW ABOUT OUR DAD? OUR DADDY?

ME: My mind went blank for  a second.. and i uttered.. Your DAD? “IN HEAVEN” ( Really! Unexpected question from the Leonardo picture topic)

Kid 2: In heaven? He is up there in the TREE ( Being a kid… Heaven = A high tree)

Kid 1: Mom what is Rambutan ( See the randomness while asking about the dad!)

Me: Rambutan is a fruit

Kid 2: (Continues his “Tree” statement ) He is up there in the tree eating BANANA? ( He’s talking with actions, like heaven being high as a tree^^)

ME:  I died laughing at the moment… My kids too adorable to handle ^^

To prevent them for asking more about the “Dad”.. I change the topic to “It’s late guys.. mommy is really getting sleepy, better sleep too okay”

My eldest son know about his dad though… Initially At an early age of 4 He started to asked & talked about “where is, what is a Dad” “Dad used to fight with you” “Dad and us used to eat here” and so on.. As for my youngest, I know He will ask over and over as He is more exposed to school, peers and such situations that will include the picture of “Where is Dad” by the way?

Last night I wasn’t prepared to be honest. Next time… I’ll try to rehearse  and or maybe write a script? But, Let it be….  I know… Every single mom by choice should have had anticipated this kind of questions. I am ready to discuss about it but last night was just not the right time.. How do you shift a LEONARDO question to as Your Dad is somewhere else with someone being irresponsible and immature…there and then… end of story.^__^  Just kidding, of course I am yet to give a balance response to my kids Daddy question. Maybe They will ask me again later tonight… while looking up at the ceiling and gazing on Leonardo Dicaprio.. ^__^

If you ever get the chance to see Hello Ghost, WATCH IT. (Super Junior members movie recommendation)

When your biases recommends anything; from books to read, food to eat, movies to watch.. Do you definitely go and try everything they say? Well I’m not that type of fan though. Well What made me watch this is because of the trans from Hyukjae’s interview in 10asia. I got all curios and wonder who among them cried a lot while watching. On sukira wook mentioned It was a good movie, Sungmin then replied; what happened w/ The kimpab blah blah …and I’m like O_O is the kimbap part of the story plot? haha

Hyukjae said on the interview “I think the movie that the most number of members saw together is Hello Ghost. On our plane ride to a concert overseas, someone had already saw it and recommended it. So all the members saw the movie on the plane. At first, I thought it was a comedy and said, “why are you crying?” But then, when I came back from the bathroom, all the members were crying. They had blankets in their mouths and their eyes were swollen. Although I cried too, I laughed a lot watching them. I think my heart was moved more because I didn’t expect it to be that touching.”

Still hesitant….

But there…

I damn gave it a try to watch and  it was totally worth of my time!

Hilarious yet touching. I thought it will bore me on the first 30 minutes but darn it i didn’t really expected that twist that made me cried buckets! I was caught unguarded! LOL.

The whole story hides a lesson about Life and family, not the one that is going to transform someone’s life in 101 degrees though…. The realization is towards the end of the movie..

It wouldn’t be a great movie if it wasn’t a  huge box office success in Korea, selling over 3 million tickets in two months… and Director Chris Columbus said “Its strong universal message translates to any culture, and I’m looking forward to bringing a version of this wonderful story to the English-speaking audience.”  Particularly the ones who can’t read, since releasing Hello Ghost in America with perfectly reasonable subtitles was never considered as a viable option. Convincing enough? But really Try it! watch it!

Question? So did Chris Columbus pursue the remake?

 Hello Ghost ( 헬로우 고스트; Hellowoo Goseuteu) is a 2010 South Korean comedy film about a man’s multiple failed suicide attempts. After the most recent one, he discovers he can now see a family of ghosts. They make an agreement that they will leave him alone once he fulfills their requests. Dubbed as the 9th grossing film of Korean Films in 2010.

Watching cartoons and learning family values?

Do you sit with your kids and watch cartoon together and once in awhile be a couch potato with them?Well I do! We are once a little kid right?  Again parental control is still needed. There are still few shows on cartoon network or in Disney channel asia these days that still has a good sense of family value and cultural value and at the same time entertaining. Say for example; Phineas & Ferbs, Upin & Ipin. My kids love to watche them.. and So do I… ^_^

 

 

 Phineas & Ferbs are actually half brothers. they are a product of a blended family and on the series they seems to really go along and never been a problem with the boys and their sister.. And one  thing i like about this show is their love for MOM. Here’s one episode of Phineas, Ferbs and candace singing I Love You Mom. 

 

 

 

Upin & Ipin a malaysian series about a twin brothers (Grandma, sister, friends)  that has a wide range of teaching of the values of hard work, honesty, generosity and respect..  It teaches the kids the universal moral values among asian. Aside from the cuteness of the twins us adults can learn something from this series as well.

 

 

 

 Watching both of these cartoons able (You) and Your kids to pick a positive message and incorporate them in real life. I am not speaking in general though.. But yes… It’s entertaining. Pretty tolerable cartoon to watch with your kiddos. We parents has different preferences and rule though.. This is just me Being a mom to a 6 and 5 yr old boys. ^^ 

 

 

again, monitoring our kids watching cartoons is a must. ^^

Lee Min Ho’s Benchsetter “Funmeet”

Bench has done it again. They started with the Taiwan’s super star (F4) Jerry Yan, followed by The Kpop idols Super Junior’s Lee Donghae and Choi Siwon, and this time, The Korean actor  super star Lee Min Ho. Life of a fangirl could get any better with Bench bringing all these gorgeous asian guys in Manila as their clothing ambassadors. I am present during those times haha (fangirling from Jerry Yan to SuJu to leeminho..whose next bench?) ^^

So there..The young ones and the young at hearts, True blue k-pop fanatics and the-not-so kpop addicts gathered all together at smart araneta coliseum on Nov. 16th friday for the “Funmeet”. The  Show started at around 8 p.m. and a kpop feels started to unfold lol when the dancers 

performed Wonder Girl’s No Body, Super Junior’s Sorry Sorry, 2ne1’s Fire and the viral song, Gangnam Style!

My friend and I were seating at the lower box area. So near Yet so far… but it’s totally okay. We are seated and our spot is just so calm. ^^

People started to scream even more as a gorgeous man was seen standing in the middle of the stage! Finally….LEE MIN HO! (Oh Yes! He’s beyond handsome like…O_O)

I like the fan-audience interaction during the Question & Answer portion. The spin-a-wheel game where in Lee Min Ho gave so much fan-service to the lucky fans! Well, Lucky fans are lucky fans!.. It’s so entertaining to watch The Look-a-like contestants who went up on stage. Also, the 5 winners of “act that scene” were asked to join LMH on stage. He was so cute when he started to say his own lines from one of his drama while watching the video entry from the winners…”wow, that was a live dubbing” said the lady emcee, Sam Oh..^^ by the way she has done a great job emceeing the event ^^

A roar goes up from the screaming fans when He started to answer questions… His smile, is to die for…

He was asked of what Filipino dish he would like to try..He asked the fans instead, He stood up and pointed to a fan who is holding a poster of his..  He also said what ever our answer is, He will try to have (eat) it for dinner… So, of course.. as always.. everyone screams ADOBO, bow! lol

 

And also he told Ms. Sam (in korean) to tell the fans at the patron area to be careful and try not to push and shove each other so no one will get hurt. awww sweet!
